Time/Money Saving Idea for Breakfast Sausage

I’m not a morning person, but I do like breakfast. I just that slicing sausage is so, so messy. So, I’ve bought sausage that is pre-cut and frozen in a nice, neat little box for years. I like it like that. Easy. Simple. No mess.

But that nifty boxed sausage… It keeps going up in price. They found my line and went over it. I resorted to buying the same sausage in a roll. What a pain. That means breakfast must dirty up my cutting board, counter, and a knife. Again, I am not a morning kind of gal.

But then, I forgot to set out the frozen roll of sausage when the last ran out. It was breakfast time and the roll was frozen.

I let it sit on the counter for about 10 minutes and got out my trusty “Old Hick’ry” knife. Sliced through, easy breezy. So easy, that I sliced the whole roll. And then another.

And I put them in a big ol’ freezer bag. Now, breakfast is easy breezy again.
And I can afford to feed my family.

Just thought I’d share.

  2. That is how my parents always sliced sausage, one time I accidentally let it thaw out all the way and, I agree, it WAS a pain! I've not let that happen again :)
