We quit mowing about half of our property.
We let it go to weeds and wildflowers.
And then…
I asked Eric to mow a path. When he asked where the path should be, I told him I’d like it to be a meandering path. He grinned and went to work on yet another of my crazy schemes.
And now, the kids have a great adventure.
Deciding which way to go is such fun!
Soon, there will be berries to pick along the path.
The magic of childhood adventure!
Next time, we may take the stick-horses on a trail ride!

I love it! If we had a large field like that, I would totally ask my hubby to do that same. How fun!
ReplyDeleteAnother fabulous idea!!!! I wish I had a yard. WE have a balcony.
ReplyDeleteFun! Wish we had some land.
ReplyDeleteI forget sometimes, just how lucky we are to have a bit of land. I grew up on a farm with hundreds of acres. I tend to take having room to run and roam for granted. Thanks for your comments and the fresh new look at my blessings. :)
ReplyDeleteLove it! I did the same thing last weekend, albeit on a slightly smaller scale. Our mower is a craftsman riding mower, but I did do a few loops through the overgrowing weeds/grass. Looking into a sickle-bar mower, if Hubby is ever home during daylight hours to go look at it. Do you have any recommendations about such a thing?
ReplyDeleteI've seen a lawn with stripes like this mown into it and it was a truly beautiful thing. Great photos
ReplyDeleteLovely! Your kids are so fortunate to have such a great, wide space to play in!
ReplyDeleteWould love it if you came over to share this at our weekly Outdoor Play linky on Fridays!
Oh my goodness, this is so brilliant! My kids would LOVE to play there. And I'd love to drive a big lawn mower and make some kind of maze. I just love this whole idea. Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking to Post Of The Month Club! XOL
What a great idea! I love your path through the wildflowers!
